My blogging has been pretty dismal so far in 2013. I guess it is the blogging equivalent of January blues. Well, now February is upon us and the blues have lifted so let the blogging recommence!
My birthday is approaching soon, and as some of you may remember, this time last year I compiled a list of 20 things I wish to do before I'm thirty. Well, I did a quick review of the list today and I haven't really been pulling my weight with this one and I only have a year left! So James and I did some planning and in September we are going to head to the pyramids for a few days, and in October we'll head to Rome for a few days so I can see the Sistine Chapel. I can't wait! That will knock two more off the list.

I also said that I wanted to be on TV.
One of my favourite people, and probably the best friend I have made in Scotland is a girl named Claire.

She is mighty craic and it turns out a fan of the TV show 'Pointless', as am I.

Well, long story short, Claire and I decided (drunkenly at first and then soberly) that together we are hilarious and that we should enter to be contestants. The entry forms were accepted a few weeks ago and now we wait with bated breath to see if we actually get to meet the wonderful Alexander and Richard. If you have never watched the show then you are missing out. It is great. You should watch an episode. If we get accepted we will either be fabulously good or horrifyingly bad. I'll let you know what happens and you can decide!
I guess the one thing that has happened so far in 2013 is that I've really started to write again. And I feel good about what I am writing. It is so liberating when the words flood through your fingers yet so terrifying when you realise that this may be you living the dream. Why is living the dream so terrifying? Perhaps because if it doesn't pan out the way you want then where do you go from there? Enough negativity. Think Hollywood blockbuster. Hopefully by the end of 2013 another of my 30 will be crossed off the list.
I also want to do a thirty day challenge. There are so many things out there, photograph challenges, song challenges. I want something different. So I have set my own challenge. Each challenge I will continue over the 6 weeks starting tomorrow 11/02/13
Week 1. No cigarettes.
Week 2. Walk home from work on my early shifts
Week 3. No fizzy
Week 4. Write for one hour a day.
Week 5. No facebook.
Week 6. Try a vegetarian diet for the final week.
I will keep you updated on how I get one. I imagine some of the next six weeks will be nothing short of torture but I guess that is the point!
Until the next time, Lu xx
I feel the same way about starting to write again. It is terrifying, isn't it? Good luck on your 30 day challenges!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is weird huh? Something I love so much scares the life out of me! It is good to know I'm not the only one who feels like that! Good luck with your writing!
