That Friday Feeling!

You know, this week was a rollercoaster of a week. But thankfully it has gone out on a good note! For no particular reason it just feels good! Scratch that! I know the reason! I'm off all weekend! Whoop!!!! Scotland was hit by a whopper of a storm last night. Thankfully no major damage was done our side of the tracks. But it was a perfect excuse to cuddle up under the duvet! These early starts (5.30 am for me and 7am for James) are not doing our internal clocks any favours Last night we were both asleep by 7.45. We're like an old couple and we're still in our flippin 20's! I've decided to revive my fuck it or fix it mantra. I was so mopey and down during the week. I annoyed myself so I'm sure the rest of you didn't appreciate it one bit. Today I'll say it loud and proud. Fuck it or fix it! If you can't fix it, then fuck it! If you can fix it then stop complaining and get on with it! It is amazing how empowering a little swear

The meaning of life?

Last night James and I had a wee chat. We were talking about work and our lovely little flat, about going back to college and finances or I suppose lack of, and to be honest, it all got very depressing very quickly. It got me thinking today, what is the meaning of it all? What is the point? It is really depressing to say that money is what makes the world go round, but really, it is. The idea of learning and living life is considered "crusty" whereas back in the time of the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery Knowledge was Power . Obviously money was important too but most of the brightest minds that we discuss now died penniless or at most comfortable. Right now, James and I have a broken phone that we use as a radio and three shelves of books as our entertainment. The situation isn't going to improve anytime soon. But do you know what? I don't think we've ever been this happy as a couple before.  I am at the ripe age of 27 earning minimum wage and James is

Little things I'm thankful for... 05/12/11

It has been a while since I've been on this, I'm totally technologically naked at the moment. Sigh. But while I'm here I'm going to be uber positive And tell you about all the great things that I have going for me at the moment because it is nice to be positive especially on the run up to Christmas. - I'm thankful for that wonderful little thing called love. The move over was tougher than we thought it was going to be but no matter how hard things got, all I had to do was look at my James and I knew that we were going to be ok. It may sound smug. If so, well it is up to you if you see it that way. I'm just glad that I have him in my life and I look forward to the adventure that we are on together even if the hills are metaphorical as well as physical! -I am thankful for my family. They have been such a big support to us since we left Ireland. They sent us away in style. More so than we ever imagined. I only wish I had been able to see more of them
